Wedding Gallery started with a simple observation and an ambitious idea. When owner and designer Nagwa Abdelghfour opened her first bridal salon in St. Charles, Missouri in 2006, she noticed something that surprised her: nearly every wedding dress sold in the United States was manufactured overseas. The gowns were designed here, marketed here, and sold here—but made somewhere else. Nagwa decided to change that.
What began as a small bridal shop near Highway 94 has grown into something rare in the wedding industry: a bridal salon that designs, manufactures, and sells its own Made in USA wedding dresses, all under one roof in the Frenchtown neighborhood of historic downtown St. Charles.
Meet Nagwa Abdelghfour — Owner & Designer
Nagwa came to the United States from Egypt and spent years working in the high technology industry before she and her husband decided to try something completely different. They wanted to build something personal, something they could pour their creativity into. A bridal shop felt right.
That first location was 2,000 square feet. Within a year and a half, they’d outgrown it and moved to a larger space on Clark Street in St. Charles. Then they outgrew that too. Today, Wedding Gallery’s main salon and factory occupy over 10,000 square feet in Frenchtown.
But the real turning point wasn’t the square footage—it was Nagwa’s decision to start designing and manufacturing her own wedding dresses. She wasn’t content to simply sell other designers’ gowns. She wanted to create something better: dresses made right here in St. Charles by skilled workers she could oversee personally. Custom wedding dresses she could stand behind completely, from the first sketch to the final stitch.
Today, Nagwa designs every gown in the Wedding Gallery collection. She’s in the salon working with brides. She’s in the factory overseeing production. That kind of direct, hands-on involvement from the owner and designer is almost unheard of in the bridal industry.
